Course formats used at Life Force Ninja for season 11: Full Course, Flow Course, Challenge Course
- Full Course: All Tier 2 qualifiers will use Full Course format. Athletes receive difficulty points from each obstacle they complete. The harder the obstacle the more difficulty points they receive. Athletes with the most difficulty points will be ranked the highest. If multiple athletes have the same difficulty points the athlete with the better overall time score will be ranked higher. Overall time score is a point value given on each obstacle an athlete completes. The faster the athlete completes a given obstacle relative to the field the more time points they receive on that obstacle.
- Flow Course: the speed course at our regional championship will use Flow Course format. The original course scoring format used by the WNL. Athletes are scored based on obstacles completed and total time up until their first fail, or when they hit the buzzer. This is the “one-and-done” format referenced above. It’s a very simple format, but can lead to higher stress on athletes since their scored run is over at their first fail. Athletes are permitted to continue their run for fun after their first fail so they can attempt the rest of the obstacles within the allotted time cap.
- Challenge Course: All Tier 1 qualifiers will use Challenge Course format. This format allows athletes to retry obstacles. Athletes are allowed to retry two obstacles per Challenge Course. However, athletes may only retry a failed obstacle one time. The athlete must complete the failed obstacle on their subsequent attempt in order to progress through the course. Once the athlete has used up their two retries or fails a retry attempt, the run is over. Athletes are permitted to continue their run for fun after their two retries so they can attempt the rest of the obstacles within the allotted time cap.
- Head-to-Head: Ninjas race each other side-by-side in this format. Uses a double-elimination tournament bracket.

WNL Tier 1 September Qualifier / Double Header Day 2
Sep. 21, 2025
Tier 1
Challenge Course Format
This will be a double-header weekend, meaning we are hosting two competitions in one weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday will use the Challenge Course format. Sunday’s competition will feature very similar courses (with a few minor tweaks to make them harder/different). With this unique double-header format, we HIGHLY recommend taking full advantage and registering for both competitions! It’s a great way to gain league points, and get qualified for the Northwest Regional taking place at Life Force on May 15-17, 2026. PLEASE NOTE: We do not recommend competing only on Sunday, as you will be at a disadvantage compared to athletes that are competing both Saturday and Sunday (since Saturday competitors will have already been on many of the obstacles that will be in Sunday’s courses).
Our event age groups and timing are listed below (the participant’s age as of Jan. 1, 2026 determines which age category they fall into).
Awards will be handed out after each course wave. Prizes will be awarded to top three finishers in every age/gender division.
